Manage the first product

Create and save your first product, then explore editing, stock, barcode labels, status, deleting and creating categories.

Create your product

  1. Open Products

Open Products in your store and choose Add product. You can also start from Add product in your store setup.

  2. Start a new product

The product form opens. Product information, Product images, Price and stock, and Selling options keep related fields together.

  3. Name your product

Enter the required Product name. Use a name your customers can recognize.

  4. Choose a category

Category is optional. Select an existing category or use New category to create one.

  5. Describe your product

Add an optional description with useful details about the item.

  6. Choose product images

Use Add images to select product photos from your device. On a phone, open Media and description first.

  7. Review the selected image

Check the image preview. This guide illustrates a sample image without uploading a file.

  8. Choose the primary photo

The first photo is Primary. Use Set primary, or the star action on a phone, to make another image the main photo. Images are optional.

  9. Set the base price

Enter a Base price of zero or more. The Default variant inherits this price.

  10. Review the default variant

Check the Default variant Price and its SKU. SKU identifies the variant for product labels; you can keep the generated SKU.

  11. Enter your available stock

Stock must be a whole number of zero or more. Add stock above zero to sell the product in POS.

  12. Keep the product active

Leave Product is active on so the item is available in your catalog and POS. Costs, discounts and website display settings are optional.

  13. Add a product option

Use Add variant when your product has choices such as size or color. A product with no options can keep only Default.

  14. Name the variant

Give each variant a recognizable name. This example adds Ocean blue.

  15. Set the variant price

Each variant needs a price of zero or more. Check the price for this option.

  16. Set the variant stock

Enter the whole-number stock quantity for this option. SKU, cost and a variant image are optional.

  17. Review your variants

Keep one variant as default. On a phone, choose Save variant to finish the variant dialog. On desktop, variants stay in the product form until Save product.

  18. Save your product

Review the name, price, stock and active status, then choose Save product.

  19. Wait for saving to finish

Saving… appears while the product is saved. Correct any validation message before trying again.

  20. Check Product details

Product details opens after a successful save. Check the price, variants and available stock. Your product is ready for your catalog and POS.

Managing product

Product row actions

Find the available product actions in the three-dot menu. The product row’s three-dot menu contains View details, Edit product, Adjust stock, Print barcode and Delete product. The same actions are available from the product card on a phone.

Editing

Change information, photos, prices or variants on a saved product. Editing updates the saved product’s name, category, description, photos and pricing. Save product keeps changes to the existing product. Variants can keep their own price, image and inventory.

Stock adjustments

Set, add or reduce the inventory for an individual variant. Set replaces the variant’s quantity. Add increases it, while Reduce takes units from existing stock. Quantity must be a whole number of zero or more. Update stock saves the adjustment; Reduce cannot exceed the quantity currently available.

Barcode labels

Review and print a product label using a variant’s SKU. Barcode labels identify an individual product variant using its SKU, alongside the product name and price. Product barcode provides a variant selector and Print barcode. A SKU is required to print the label.

Active status

Pause selling while keeping the product and its details saved. Active makes the item available in the catalog and POS. Inactive pauses selling while preserving the saved product, photos, variants and stock. The row switch saves the status automatically. Making the product Active again restores availability without recreating it.

Deleting

Check the confirmation for permanently removing a product and its variants. Delete product permanently removes the product and its variants. The confirmation identifies the selected product and offers Cancel to keep it. Inactive status can pause selling without removing saved information. This illustrated example does not change real products.

Creating categories

Organize products with categories you create and select in the product form. Manage categories on Products opens Product Categories. Add Category provides a required Category name, optional description and image, and an Active switch. Create category saves the new category. Active categories are available in a product’s Category dropdown; Save product keeps the selected category on that product.
